Joe we discussed this last year too, lets plan a weekend trip somewhere in the middle of the country, ie Gariepdam, then all K Riders can join in this event. Sure we can get 60+ K bikes together.

Thanks for joining us today. :D

I thought BMW riders were more safety concious?? I'm guessing passing and lane-splitting are leagal on that continent. Great videos. Hopefully everyone end the trip safely.

Guys, this is really awesome! I know Eka said it sooner than I, so call me a copy cat... :)

Thanks a lot to our man Biza for doing it bigger and better every year. What a guy. Take a bow BIZA!!!!

A huge thanks to the whole SA K bike community. What a true group of enthusiasts.

Real good work. Although I don't see any sign with our forums name on it, I am sure you guys brought up our name once or twice.

Huge thanks also to our main man Jamie for the coverage. ! :) S

Also, a note to Rocketier, we don't preach safety on this forum. Pussies we are not. You guys can ride these bikes as fast as you like, I am surprised you guys don't post more videos. It's not our concern how people ride these bikes. Heck they are the fastest machines in the world and if you live in parts of the world with more lax surveillance might as well...

Thank you Shiva, it is the GREAT SA biking community to be thanked. Awesome guys and girls. [smilie=1.gif] :salut:

Unfortunately we didn't have a banner this year, but I have mentioned our website's address quiet a few times. Hopefully more members will register. The necessary exposure was given.

Rocketier - You can't help enjoying an awesome bike and some times go over the limits. Lanesplitting is legal in our country, sometimes the speed you do it, is most important and your safety is never guaranteed. However, the open roads draws like a magnet to travel at high speed.
We had no incident, if one takes into account that we travelled 190km in less than two hours, with 68 bikes through traffic and we had a few stops for a leg stretch etc., we did pretty well and accommodated the slower riders too.

Over the past weekend BMW SA hosted the ECO 1000 for GS bikes, 350 people attended and sad to say, there was one fatality. :( In another incident one serious injury with a guy taking a fall. Our condolences to the family. :(

That was my "race" trajectory Bernardo - apex on solid line :-)
Nothing to worry about, I had plenty space to correct more to the left or brake should I thought necessary.

Regarding the event - Rally was at least 5 km long, as we were riding from the tail to the front it was just bikes, bikes, bikes....all BMW.

To SA guys doing all the logistics work, to Shiva for his initiative and catering to global online community, to all the riders who participated, one big THANK YOU !!!

Yes and we have to think for them too. I braked first to warn guy behind before peeling off far to the right but he didn't get the message :-)

Yes, lane splitting is legal on our continent - how about your continent Rocketier ? :-)

Seriously now, K-S bikes, for me are about riding fast, period.

Shiva, Biza: Message received. Ride 'em like you want to. I have no problem with that. I was just taken back a little to see how close some of those riders routinely came to on-coming traffic in Alex's video. Nevertheless, I am sorry to hear someone did have an accident.

If there is one thing I admire though, everyone was wearing protective equipment. That is something you don't see around here with all the H.D. riders and the younger Sport riders (they are toooooo cool to cover up). [smilie=062802moto_prv.gif]

Mirage_ZR: Lane Splitting is not legal in this country (at least no states that I am aware of).

You misunderstood - no incidents on this ride.

The accident happened on a different off-road event staged elsewhere over the same period
