Last time i get my tyres changed to my Megamoto i did notice wheel dented, when he started to balance it. It's the rear one and i don't have a clue when it would have been damaged. There should have been ok pressure all the time. I have driven it rough sometimes, but i just can't remember anything special. The front is ok, which i assume first to damage at potholes etc. Well, i have to get it fixed some day...

+1 - My pressures are always normal, put sportsmarts on and noticed straight away that the rim was bent. £130 to have it refinished !

This is a good thread, hadn't thought about changing the tyre pressures. I suspect if I lower my front pressure it will slow how fast I can get the bike down as the more the tyre is shaped like a V, the quicker it will fall in.

Might lower the rear a little though, had a couple of sideways moments of the bigger variety (expect the small ones) at the weekend.
Cheers

This is what it says on the technical data 0507- CD about the S1000RR tyre pressure.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, “Set it to the book” or in this modern age “Set it to the CD/DVD”
After all, they are the people who designed and built the thing!!!!!!!!

Perhaps you should think about it this way - 60kg rider on S1000RR (200kg bike) vs overweight couple (200kg) on GT with loaded top box and panniers (300kg+). Same tyre pressure ? I don't think so.

The tyre pressures on a K12/13 stay the same one up or two up with luggage, only the suspension is changed.
Take a look at 4-63 http://www.bmw-motorrad.ca/pdfs/riders/K1300S.pdf

I think this bike was designed to be ridden by one person with no luggage. :(

I don't think we understand each other, not to worry.

Yes I know what you mean Mirage, you would think they would give you different pressures for two up riding with luggage, like on most models, but looking at the data this is not the case for the S1000RR or the K1300S.

Oh look, I got two posts for the price of one, I must have been editing the last one when you posted your reply Mirage.
I edited it because it did not read right, scrub first one, go to second. LOL

Amendment to the last post.
The data in the K1200S Riders Manual is different to the data in the K1300S Riders Manual.
It gives you the pressures for one-up tyre cold and two-up/or with luggage, tyre cold.

And guess what?
They are both the same.
Don't believe me?
Take a look at 4/62
http://www.bmw-motorrad.dk/dk/da/bikes/ ... S_2008.pdf

I give up. LOL [smilie=64.gif]

Divorce would be the easy option, then you could set the pressure to one up riding and not have to bother about getting the pump out for the wife, although my wife needs a pump, she's inflatable.
A expensive accurate tyre pressure gage is another option for riding bliss.
Eg: the PCL Accura I Gauge. http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/96
You can get them on eBay for £84 Item number: 170685579424
