First Ride

Hi folks from cold and windy southern Ontario. Finally got her and wanted to say hello.

Took delivery Monday and trailered her home in a goofy spring blizzard. Thankfully, the snow didn't stick around so got to take her out this afternoon on our first ride.

To say I was impressed is insanely understated. Even with the governor in, throttle response was great and you can feel what is just begging to be unleashed. The handling was the best part of all. I can't believe how sorted it is just on the factory settings. Going to let things loosen up a bit and then start setting up the suspension. I have ridden a lot of bikes over 30 years on the street, including some very expensive exotics and race bikes and this is easily the best I have ever ridden out of the box.

On a really immature note, the head turn appeal of the bike is hilarious. Seems everyone knows about the S1000RR now and it seemed everywhere I was, if another rider saw the thing it was double and triple take. Even had an 8 year old ask if it was the new BMW!

Can't wait to really get to play and our first track session.

If I have seemed to go on a bit, sorry, but this was a long time coming. Had ordered a '10 and lost it due to a really crappy surprise that I got so this is extra special and I will be savouring it.
