OK guys times marching on and there are a couple of suggestions for the venue of this years event.

Jon-R1 convert has put up a post Isle of Man Tootle which I think would be a good venue for GSS.

The other option for people who the can't make the 3 day trip is a ride up to Kielder Water incorporating Hartside.Start point would be Penrith town centre or Brampton town centre(Cumbria) depending where most people are coming from.
This ride will be fine tuned as soon as we get some guys confirming they will attend.

I would ask you guys who are thinking of coming to confirm quickly as to what you would prefer to do so we can get it sorted more important for IOM trip.

Basically I will do either trip so come on guys lets try and double our attendance which was 4 kbike riders last year.

My preference would be IOM but im not too desperate.

I would not be able to make the IOM but I would be interested in the Hartside/Kielder run

Evening All

Had a chat with the lads at my end, I think the IOM idea is off due to cash restrictions.

So I'm changing my vote to a ride without going over the water !!

One quick note about the area for the uk ride, is it not a bit far north ?

Might put too many of our Southern Friends off doing a ride on the verges of the Scottish border.

Cheers

Nothing to stop the lads from the South organising something of their own if they can't make it up here. The reason I put the ride up North is that the most active members on here (in the UK) all live within around 100 miles of each other + we are handy for our Scottish members.
Anyone from down South who wants to make weekend of it can book into local premier inn for about £45 and can park their bikes in my garage.

Sorry I cannot do, I dont have enough brownie points or annual leave left this year. brownie points are about to be shattered when I broach the new toy discussion tomorrow.
Hoping the weather stays like this

I'm tempted to ride up, in order to represent the "Southern Softies"!

Have you agreed upon a rendezvous time and place yet? It'll determine where I choose to lay my head for a night or two.

Would be pleased to see you MrMicroChip I was going to post up kick off point next week but here you go.

One of the group was asking about Penrith to Hayden Bridge. We will be doing part of that route stopping at Hartside for a brew and picking up any of the NE guys who don't want to come to Penrith.

So this is where we will meet Penrith town centre which coincidentally was where we set of from last year.I suggest the time of 10.15am.

Ok guys this is it for the UK could you confirm if you are coming to the above next Sunday.

10.15 am Penrith town centre.

Badger- Mr Micro Chip you've both expressed an interest in the above if you can make it we'd be pleased to see some guys from the South.
If the weather is poor we will cut the ride short,in its current form it will be approx 150 ish miles.Whatever the weather we will be going to Hartside cafe a big biker destination worth going to for anyone who is from outside of Cumbria.

Weather dependent, I'm good to go.

I'll confirm for def by text + forum on Saturday. My kit has lost a lot of it's weather resistance so not too keen on doing it in the rain. Fingers crossed for a dry day !!!!

If hartshead is late on in the trip, I will be heading south from there and I am happy to escort any of our southern friends to the A1.

NB: motorbikez, can you post a proposed route please ?
Cheers

Proposed route is Penrith to Alston then on to Brampton and Kielder via Roman road.Back via Cannobie-Longtown.

If weather is bad route will be shortened to suit everyone.

This part of the ride is only about 10 miles and the road is not that straight and very undulating running right next to Hadrians Wall.
