The 6 cylinder motor is having it's own press launch in Berlin this week by all accounts.

I found some new "spy cam" photo's:

I notice the shape of the windscreen is different from the previous photo's in this thread...

Those photos excite me because the bike looks much narrower than the bulbous K1200LT and R1200RT. I hate wide motorcycles largely because they compromise lane-splitting but also because I find it more comfortable when my feet don't have to be spread wide on the bike. Also wider bikes need their footpegs to be higher up for lean angles, further reducing comfort.

Also of course most of the heavy bits look fairly low, though not Goldwing low, but still decent.

Yes, the model size is much more like the current K1200/1300GT then the K1200LT. Which is fine by me! ;) Because I will likely be upgrading from the K1200GT, and I'm not a fan of a bulky model like the Goldwing or K1200LT. If it would be like that, I would be looking elsewhere. ;)
But I don't like the windscreen you see in the latest pictures. The one from the first spy-photo I liked better, and was more like the current K1200/1300GT. So I hope this will be optional...

Windscreens and seats are things many people replace anyway so such things do not concern me personally.

The informational pdf isn't very informative about the weight. Here are some quotes:

• Lightest and most compact six-cylinder in-line engine in serial motorcycle
production, weighing just 102.6 kg and measuring 560 mm in width.
• Consistent lightweight construction throughout the entire vehicle
(magnesium front panel carrier, aluminium rear frame, crankshaft etc.).

And it looks comparable in size to the current K12/1300GT in the spycam photos. The motor might be a bit heavier because of the six cilinders and the double exhaust. But they might have been able to save some weight in other parts. So 300 Kg's or maybe a bit less sounds about right...

The bike will be shown in LA at the same time as it is first shown at Intermot, no riding however.

It would indeed be great if they could stay underneath the 300 kgs. Even if it has only a psychological effect.
Pricewise, where do you think we are going?

I think we will see numbers in the $25K US range, well under the Goldwing.

The Wing is crazy money. I hope that the 16 will be in the same kind of bracket as the K13GT - but given the tech of the new bike i can't see it.

I think price is in function of the buyers wallet, and potential buyers are the same as the current GT's, then will be quite similars, may be a bit higher since will be a "first star"
Is true, the new bike will be better, but isn't important, they must put a accesible value....

Indeed. Given BMW aggressive pricing here in the UK regarding the S1000RR and it's subsequent sales success, then i hope the K16 will follow the same pattern.

The K1300GT is flirting with the 20000 Euro already. I don't expect the K1600GT to be lower than that. On the contrary. I'd say 22000 Euro. The K1600GTL maybe in the 25000 - 27000 Euro range? But this is pure speculation based on cost of the current GT and the cost of the Honda GW in Europe.

It should be LT replacement....big, heavy, expensive.
Gap between S and GT will be way to large. It was perfect as it was - S/GT/LT....my 2 cents anyway.

I'm looking forward to a test ride. I think it'll be my kind of engine. Big, low level torque - but with the ability to rev and provide you with high entertainment value.
