I just checked out the Bike issue with R1200S on the cover. The R1200S certainly wins the top marks in their long multi-road and track review. Very cool! They also talk about the real power existing at around 6K. :) S

My issue arrived today in the mail. Consider it one of the finest motorcycle magazines around. Very creative. Well written. Humorous. Haven't read the article yet though.

BTW, that Pro Race suit on your looks great. After your positive remarks months ago, and the fact it came with a long inseam for my long legs I picked up the suit at the beginning of the summer. Will have it for a long time.

And FWIW left a post at PP in your thread suggesting some drop the clubby mentality and grow up.

About PP, I asked the admin to delete that thread. I have no intention of going back there. If an original poster ask me to delete their thread I would do it. I guess they decided to keep it up to create some controversy. What are they doing tucked in a few layers deep on a car web site anyway, the R1200S deserves better. S

Yeah, I love Bike magazine... but they are pretty obnoxious sometimes!

Check the end of the article for the personal remarks about the bikes... objectively the BMW is number 1 but no journalist would buy one... the reason? "It´s too BMW". Sometimes I wish they would stick their favorite brand (obviously Triumph) up their arses!

This is true.... have noticed a strong Triumph bias. Especially of late. While the 675 deserves hearty praise, they are overboard with their infatuation of the Sprint ST

Recently rode the R1200S and the K1200R not quite back to back, but separated by a few weeks... and came to similar conclusions.

But tell us Shiva... if you could only have one, which would it be?

Well, I dropped off the R1200S today. I was sad to let it go. The new Boxer bikes have a certain charm that grows on you. But I am given a K1200S to test ride for about 2 weeks. So, my sadness didn't last that long... ;) So, look for images and videos of the new K1200S soon.

As for which one I'd pick, well there are two answers to this question. 1- One bike is never enough and 2- The K1200S without a hesitation. If I were to ride only one bike, it would have to be the K1200S. The riding style, ergos and overall feel of the bike is very much to my liking. Compare to the R1200S, the K1200S feels regal and stately, also very planted and not as flighty yet it's an excellent cornering machine, even though it's 100 pounds heavier.

Just to wrap up the R12S story, it's lightness and handling prowess won me over in the last days and if its ridden hard it will shine as a sport bike.

Cheers, S
