RIP Child In Time

Postby motorbikez on Sun May 22, 2011 4:15 am

I was informed of some sad news regarding Child in Time also known as Double Eagle on some other sites.

Apparently Randolph suffered fatal injuries in an accident on his S1000RR.My sincere condolences go to his brother with whom Randolph lived, I'm sure you guys enjoyed Ran's posts and his enthusiasm for all motorcycles not just BMs of which he owned 2.
He will be missed on here for his interesting and sometimes eccentric take on things.
Rest in peace Ran.

reading the newspaper report, it does seem weird that he suffocated, considering he didn't have any serious injuries.

my condolences to his brother. may Randolf rest in peace.

What a strange accident, heard and studied a lot about motorcycle accidents over the years and I can only think of one other where a rider got strangled by his helmet directly or indirectly.

Always sad news to loose a forum member. Big condolences go to his brother.
Cheers

We don't know the real reason yet, but i couldn't get my helmet off after i broke my collar bone and that breaks easily. I had also 7 ribs broken, but hands were ok. Tight leather will also resist. Maybe i would have managed after while, but it felt desperate. If helmet is full of mud and you can't get your helmet off or hands up to dig mud off, you are quickly in serious trouble.

I'm digging out my Halfords seat belt cutter again then. It cost about £3 and though I have never used it, it will cut the strap easily with one hand.
Cheers

Blaming his death on his helmet is premature. From what I read in that article, it seems equally plausible he had a medical event prior to crashing.
