Ok as some of you may have gathered I recently managed to throw my bike down the track at a recent trackday!!
However having given it loads of thought on scrapping/selling off the parts as it would make financial sense to do so I have decided to rebuild it as its do able and I just can't bring myself to break it up.
Its not going to be a detailed thread on the rebuild as I don't have time for that but a few pics to show the then and now and the odd comment along the way!
Some pics of how it stands (or not) at the moment with the frame bare and engine stripped back ready for putting back together.
I suffered the now common timing chain jump but amazingly have got away without much damage (to the engine).
My bike has ABS as standard but I plan to remove this altogether and run it unassisted etc, especially as I only intend to track the bike from now on.
Yesterday I picked up a box of bits from BMW including new front fork ball joints (one had broken in half from the accident), new timing chain, sprockets, jump guard (very important) top and bottom rails, gaskets for the head and gearbox which I removed to check and various other little bits and pieces!
