New Member Saying Hi

Postby L8*Apex on Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:57 pm

Hello everyone. Just joined up. I've just recently purchased a used 2005 K1200S. Enjoying the bike so far. Since it's used I've got a few things to iron out but over all for it's age the bike is pristine. Only have just this one pic so far. Been too hot to mess around with long rides. Maybe this weekend.

One issue, found these cut wires, one set on each side of the fairing. Not sure what they used to go to. Seems the four wires (two on each side) are wired into these orange relays. The relays, or whatever they are, appear to be wired into the electrical for the bike but without taking apart the whole fairing and tank pieces I can't see where it all goes. Anybody have an idea what this is/was for?

Looks like to be connectors, not relays. Can be anything. Maybe extra power for GPS, PMR, radar detector or what ever. If you have volt meter, measure if there is any voltage before and after you switch off the ignition or start engine. Beside those is actually original connection for GPS.

Welcome! Looks like a beautiful machine. Yeah, as Eka mentioned, there is a cable designed to run a GPS inside your battery compartment (at least on my '06 K1200R).
