As you guys know, Harley's are very big in the US, so most motorcycling events or hang outs are usually dominated by HD riders. The main problem with those scenes is that, you, as a whole, are dealing with a bunch of conformists, who try to look a like and dress a like. Sort of a canned version of some puppet outlaw. The good news is that, a lot of these fine people are finally seeing the light, standing out for their independence and switching to the likes of BMW. I get e-mails on regular basis from HD riders who are thinking about getting a BMW.

There is some relief in NYC for riders who like to think for themselves, one of those places is a bar called Ear Inn. Ear has been around for about 200 years. It is arguably the oldest bar in NYC.

Every Tuesday night, between May and Sept, weather permitting (above 65 deg. f. at night, dry with clear skies), between 50-100 sport, sport touring and enduro riders get together for chit chat, camaraderie and shop talk. I highly recommend Ear Inn, next time you're in Manhattan, on a Tuesday, in the warm season.

We cannot guarantee warm weather all summer, Shiva, but the most historic biker's cafe in England has to be the Ace Cafe, North London, on the infamous North Circular Road:-

In the 1960's, the cool thing to do was to put a record on the juke box (probably Buddy Holly or similar) and then ride fast out to the local roundabout and back before the record had finished, hitting "the ton" on the way.

 Riders of all makes of machine, old and new, Yankee, Italian, Brit or Japanese now regularly converge on the cafe to compare bikes, birds, and beer (it's a British thing...)
