I think it's a great move. K and S together. Love it!

What do you think of the site's new name

Postby SHIVA on Wed Apr 23, 2008 11:58 pm

Time for an anonymous poll. What do our members think about the site's new name BMWSuperBikes.com?

Initially we were BMWK1200S.com, that URL is still active of course. When the R and the GT came, the K1200S became limiting and inaccurate. So we grew to BMW-K.COM, and I was pretty sure BMW will stick to the "K" for all their multi-cylinder bikes. But since they are going to share K and S for their I-4 bikes, the BMW-K also became limiting.

Now with the BMWSuperBikes.com we can, for the indefinite future be the site for all BMW I-4 bikes, while keeping the BMW-K site.

Here's a copy of my announcement about this change:
At BMW-K.COM we have been the community for BMW multi-cylinder bikes for a few years. However after 25 years the multi-cylinder BMW's are no longer confined to the letter "K." This week BMW Motorrad launched another designation to represent even a faster line of BMW I-4 bikes and that mark is "S."

To celebrate this occasion and to embrace collectively all the current and future riders of BMW multi-cylinder bikes, whether they love the proven K bikes or the new S bikes or both, our community will be known as BMWSuperBikes.com.

I think that's an apt name and truly represent not only the growth of our community but the overall caliber and the expertise of our membership.

Our community receives about 3 million hits a month, with a growing membership of about 3,600 and an expanding open archive of more than 50,000 very informative posts.

We love fast bikes and it shows.

Of course our community will still be accessible through previous URLs and now a new one as well "BMWS1000.COM."

You can visit us for the same content without interruption via:

BMWSuperBikes.com
BMW-K.COM
BMWK1200S.COM
BMWS1000.COM

It's great to have you along this spirited journey. Smile S

Back from a long and relaxing break (finally found time to read 'The woods" from Harlam Coben  ) and hitting the forum again....

The content is what counts for me, Shiva. Am sure that you will find the best common denominator to cover all types of K&S series BMW has and will be launching.... Keep up the great work!

I think it's great.

It opens up the coverage to beyond the K12S, which it has been. So, in a way, it hits the dot. Not to mention now the site is ready for the new upcoming bike.

Hopefully it'll help to bring the awareness to the rest of motorcycle community that BMW is not just about twin-heads. We can be sporty and keeping up with the rest of the sportsbikes. :)

Sorry but underwhelmed. The forum is so specific to the KS, let the S guys go to a sister site.

No need for you to hide. You're entitled to your opinion. BTW, I concur and have said it.

I think that as the forum index spilts the bikes into the various models then I am not too worried what the Name is at the top of the page.
