check this out. They didn't include Kawa ZZR1400/ZX14, because in the past tests the 'Busa has always beat it, so, this test is about a new challenger going against the champion and wining with a KO... :)

I haven't read the article but I can confirm with my own experience I regularly ride with 2 Busa owners and I can leave one standing anywhere, the other guy who is a better rider can stay with me just, he is suprised how well the K13S handles for such a big bike.I can see him moving to BMW a year or two down the line.

That’s because we knew that all along anyway

However, it is nice to have a reputable publication confirming that

btw, they got the size of the rear tyre wrong

I noticed the rear tire, also the dyno doesn't make too much sense. The bike can't drop 30HP from crank to the wheel. 175 at the crank would get at the least 150 to 155 at the wheel. but we'll have to wait and see other dyno results. however, as long as both bikes use the same dyno on the same day the result can be considered fair. :)

Didn't see this because it was so high up on the posting list. Yeah - I could have told you this, after having spoken with quite a few busa owners :) But its nice to see that recognition is there from the journalists :)

it's the rider that counts!! V-Max is 700 pounds, it can easily be beaten specially with the quick shifter. but it takes a lot of guts to let loose the K13 is all her ferociousness. I have heard the new Vmax is slower in 0-60 than the old one, again because of it's very heavy weight. That bike is overrated. S

Vmax from Motorcyclist...

Performance
Corrected 1/4-mile: 11.30 sec. @ 119.84 mph
0-60 mph: 3.55 sec.
Top-gear roll-on, 60-80 mph: 3.69 sec.

Not very impressive considering the K12S does atbout mid 10's and 130+ mph in the 1/4 mile.

the new Vmax is a dog. street drags don't mean anything. you can be on an older bike but have lots of guts and beat any other rider. street drag is not about the bike, it's about the rider's balls only. You can't beat the K1300S with the quick shifter no way, no how. As the Bike magazine realized when they put the K13 against the R1 and Gixxer 1K and it won. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=11784&p=78688#p78688

Granted under controlled conditions, using very accurate instruments and doing the best out of 3 or 5 tries, certain bikes may edge K1300S for 0-60 only, but generally speaking it's not possible to out gun the K1300S specially with the quick shifter. S

With all due respect.. The K1300S is down by almost 20hp. It is down on torque as well. The 1/4 time and speeds through the traps reflect which bike is making more power and getting it to the ground. The K1300S is down by about 5/10's in the quarter mile and is down 8 miles per hour. Those are huge gaps. Anyone that has ridden a 9.90 bike versus a 10.40 bike knows that the difference is huge not to mention that fact that the Busa is pulling on the K1300S like a freight train at end of the run with its 8 mile per hour speed difference.

this is not a guess work. there is plenty of data on both bikes. it's easy to compare.

VMax is 700 pounds!!!! that's a huge a weight to throw around, 20 hp will not help it. It's 150 pounds heavier than the K13S.

If R1 and Gixxer couldn't beat the K13, Vmax doesn't have a prayer. S

I think we are mixing comparisons...

Busa is quicker/faster than the K13. I don't think very many disagree with that. But it's close enough that the rest of the K13S package makes for a better bike. At least in this article.

Both are much quicker/faster than the Vmax. We can all agree on that? Trap speed difference is huge.

Another publication confirms what we already know MCN tested the K13S v Busa in April heres a few comments for you guys that haven't seen it.

Heres the BUSA thats always miles behind me.To be fair the guy is not that good a rider but my other friend is and he stuggles to keep with me, whereas on my K12 he'd no problems and I struggled to stay with him.

What MCN and others say is correct in that if you have 2 riders of similar ability you will always be in front on the K13S V BUSA

I had a run against a Hayabusa on my K1300s off the lights and found that he couldn't pull away from me and I could only gain on the shift changes (his) but also couldn't pull away. The last time I glanced at the speedo we were over 200Km/Hr and we went a bit more before we backed off. Frustrating as I wanted to do him in but the bikes were both so even in power I wonder now whether I should have tucked in better to help but this shows just how close it was. At least he didn't leave me behind otherwise I would have been severely disappointed. I also have the Akra pipe fitted FYI.

Hi DR I'm not talking about dragging from lights or cracking the throttle open on the motorway, but about our typical 150 mile ride out on A B and C roads where speeds range from 30mph - 120 mph as MCN says at real world speeds the K13 is always in front of the busa.
