Have you got a route in mind? or a lunch stop?
We used to visit the Mortal Man pub for a nice bit of bait.
I am easy though.

Yes I have a route in mind Dave which can be tailored according to weather conditions.I was thinking of having lunch at Sticklebarn tavern near Gt Langdale or Swan at Newby Bridge but am flexible. If the mortal man is the pub near troutbeck bridge I think it will be too early.
Lets hope the weather is as good as this weekend.

Route roughly, Penrith-Pooley Bridge-Glennridding-up kirkstone pass- windermere- Newby Bridge-hawkshead-Gt Langdale-Ambleside then maybe Keswick and back to Penrith via A66.

If you are hungry we could have a coffee/sarnie in Penrith.

Dave brought the sun but it didn't last,2weeks of virtually bone dry weather and you've guessed it we get rain but not much.

Mine and Daves bikes in penrith.
Image

Then Jon and Andy turn up about 10.15, pic of all of our bikes which were creating alot of interest from the public.
Jon and Andy's bikes

Image

Dave will no doubt post up a shot of us all with bikes and a little boy who sat on Daves bike.
Image

View of Ullswater then we go over the kirkstone pass and down to windermere whre we stop for a coffee then on to newby bridge up past hawkshead and stop for our lunch at a pub near Skelwith Bridge.Starts raining a bit harder so we decide to give Gt Langdale a miss and head back to Penrith via ambleside grassmere and keswick onto the A66 and back to penrith were we part company.
Image

Bikes at Windermere which again were in demand as a group of Japaneese tourists took photographs of the bikes the ladies epecially liked them.Dave wanted to charge them £1 per photo only joking of course.

Was nice to put faces to names and we enjoyed the crack, weather could have been better but hey this is the lake district the wettest area of the UK.

Yup it was a nice run out, we doubled the numbers from the last global meet!
I was back home less than 5 minutes and Mrs f wanted a lift to the local shopping centre, what a life eh !
Here is the gathering

left to right is R1 convert, Soofsayer, Frisky and Motorbikerz

On the way home i stopped at Hartside cafe, ( a popular spot on top of the moors )
parked up were three "Scarvers" they lean up to 45 degrees and could be fun (especially with our climate!!)

Image
A good run, maybe we can organize another before winter sets in?

There were three of those on my Nurburgring course. An instructor rolled one at about 80mph in the wet ....it was a very expensive mess !!

Hi Everyone

Brilliant day yesterday, was good to get out on the bike and get some miles under our belt !!

Weather was good for most of the day but even when it wasn’t, it didn’t dampen our spirits...

(these photo's are just the same as motorbikez, just different perspectives)

Meeting at Penrith, the little lad in the background ended up sitting on one of the bikes !!

Garth, I guess we should have made sunday the day.Weather here was great, we popped down to Masham and had a tour around the Dales
There were a load of bikes out today enjoying thed sun, at Masham there were three Vincents and two Honda Runes in the village square, what opposites!
Thanks for the nice ride Garth.
Not impressed withe the candid camera moment young convert

I'd agree Dave Sunday would have been the better day but Soof could only make it on Saturday due to going on holiday.
Had a ride up to hartside today loads of bikes out.

Gents, RIGHT ON! Those bikes look, dare I say it, menacing! Nice group of bikes and collection of images.

As I said in another thread, numbers do not matter in our rallies, because we aren't selling tickets or popcorn, it's about the spirit of camaraderie. Real nice job. Thanks... :) S
