I'm guessing GT. The seat looks low, but the bike has a real sporty GT look about it. Looks like it'll be the daddy of all the big GT bikes.

I think BM will knock this one out of the park. It's got the comfort, the toys and an engine configuration to intrigue all bikers. The only dark cloud is launching a high end tourer in this economy. No matter - i'll be test riding it as soon as it hits the show rooms...

Here's a translation of the article:

BMW six-cylinder LT
Erlkönig caught?

What looks at first like a Kawasaki GTR turns out on closer inspection as a new BMW LT with the first time last fall presented new six-cylinder inline engine.
s/14.06.2010
Erlkönig BMW LT

Today we received an interesting mail one of our readers: "Dear TF-editing, on my vacation by the U.S. in April, I was at a gas station near Los Angeles motorcycle accident this unknown to me before the lens. The driver spoke German, perhaps there is a new, camouflaged BMW? Perhaps the photo is of interest to you ... "

That's very well, because it is unmistakably presented here at a yet unknown, BMW, probably the most well-packaged new cylinder, the end of last year was. Among his key data include 55 degree slope, 1.6 liter, power 160-170 hp and above all, a decent torque, that is to let go even at 2000 rpm whopping 130 Nm.

BMW Concept 6
The BMW suspension is a familiar commodity, that is an aluminum-tube frame, front wheel suspension and Paralever rear. Striking are the long wheelbase, the voluminous muffler and far to the driver hinragende handlebars. The windshield goes up and down electrically, the bags are integrated into the vehicle, the rear-view mirrors are in contrast to the previous LT not embedded in the cladding, but sit at separate instructions booklet. LED panel embedded into the center ¹ s are used as daytime running lights. The new K 1600 LT is very likely this year at the Intermot of 6-10. Presented in October in Cologne.

Who once the report of November at the launch of the BMW "Concept 6 would read," bikes, who has the chance. •

Very interesting. Lots of shove where you need it, and probably the start of a new family for BMW.

Good god almighty that is ugly. Like a maximo VFR700.

At least now it puts BMW on the stakes of VFR1200 ugliness too.... (the slabby doe-eyed monster it is). :bom:

Ah, makes sense. Missed spotting the tape.

We'll see though - BMW seems to be getting uglier if the 5 series is anything to go by!! :D

The concept 6 bike will not make production, but i can't see BMW creating this new engine for just one platform, and they don't have a cruiser in their range anymore, so i reckon you'll see some type of naked based on this unit.

There was no news in the article, just what we already know. I wonder if the bike will be launched at the big Garmish bash in June. I know there is a presentation about the 6 cylinder motor there..

MCN is mostly vapourware, with the odd exceptional scoop. Almost feel sorry for them having to fill a whole paper each week. Just hope they've paid for the rights to the photo. Shows we should always keep a camera with us at all times.

Thanks Bernardo !!!

And I wanted to do nice farewell to my K, rode like a champ on breakfast run, as you've requested, with speedo visible but mounted camera too low on the helmet, all you can see is speedo :-)

Have to do chain tensioner and new clutch soon (47000km) but other than that bike feels strong.
